Swine Flu, Flu Shot, Vaccination Follow-Up

Posted by Dr. Gray on Thursday, January 21, 2010

In October and November of last year, when the big swine flu scare was ramping up, I wrote several articles discussing my thoughts on the Swine Flu Pandemic and vaccinations. Here we are several months later and guess what… I was right! The swine flu hoax is coming to light, and now even doctors are beginning to admit it was all crap, and just about money.

Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, a leading health authority in Europe, says that drug companies “organized a ‘campaign of panic’ to put pressure on the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare a pandemic. He believes it is ‘one of the greatest medicine scandals of the century,’ and he has called for an inquiry.” Read more about it here.

It turns out… as predicted… that the swine flu was never as dangerous as advertised and has led to less than 10% of the number of deaths annually related to the traditional “seasonal” flu. Dr. Wodarg said, “The great campaign of panic we have seen provided a golden opportunity for representatives from labs who knew they would hit the jackpot in the case of a pandemic being declared.”

What did I tell you? It’s all about the Benjamins, baby! The H1N1 Swine Flu virus was never dangerous, and should never have been escalated to a level-six pandemic. All of the hubbub, fear, and intense concern were mere tactics used to sell vaccines. Why would so many participate? Follow the money…  In the fourth quarter alone, GlaxoSmithKline shipped $1.4 billion worth of their vaccine. That’s BILLION… with a B… $1.4 BILLION in taxpayer dollars just to one company… in just three months… for something that was an artificially inflated risk. Wonder which politicians GSK is supporting in this year’s elections, huh? Wonder which TV stations are selling tons of ad time telling you how badly you need the shot? Wonder which companies all of sudden began supporting the new health care bill… right after the politicians got on board with this hoax? Mike Adams of NaturalNews.com wrote that, “The drug companies raked in billions of dollars in revenues while providing a product that offered absolutely no net reduction in mortality. In fact, as the long-term side effects of the vaccines remain unknown, it could turn out that the vaccines actually result in a net increase in mortality.”

So… all I’m asking is for you to use your head. Be smart. Do your research. And always, always, … follow the money.

It’s Cold and Flu Season!!!

Posted by Dr. Gray on Tuesday, November 17, 2009

It’s cold and flu season, and the sounds of coughing, sneezing and runny noses can be heard in nearly every home, office and shopping mall across the country. But don’t run to the doctor and stock up on prescriptions just yet.

Colds, flus, most sore throats and acute bronchitis are caused by viruses, and antibiotics do not help fight viruses. Your prescription medication won’t fight the virus, make you feel better, yield a quicker recovery or keep others from getting sick. In fact, because of the potentially serious side effects, taking antibiotics to treat a virus can do more harm than good.

In addition to failing to solve your problem, taking unnecessary antibiotics can result in an increase in antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria change in some way that reduces or eliminates the effectiveness of drugs, chemicals or other agents designed to cure or prevent infections. This means the next time you really need an antibiotic for a bacterial infection, it may not work.

When the scratchy throat, sinus headache and sniffles get to be too much to handle this season, resist the urge to reach for the easy answer. Talk to your doctor about natural alternatives for treating your cold or flu.

Why Are You Supposed To Get A Flu Shot?

Posted by Dr. Gray on Monday, October 26, 2009

Nearly every day, I am asked about vaccinations, or “the flu shot.” My patients ask if I take them, and whether or not they should. The answer to the first part of the question is unequivically… NO! No way. Uh uh. Not going to do it. Not for me, my wife, or my kids. Not a chance in hell. But, that’s just me, and it’s based on the knowledge I have gained by researching the methods of production, the ingredients, how they work, and the risks involved. Whether or not you choose to take a “flu shot,” swine flu shot, chicken pox vaccine, or any other vaccine is a personal decision that you must make based on your own research and individual situation.

However, that’s kinda the sticky part, huh? As an everyday citizen who doesn’t live, breathe, and research the health care world everyday, where are you supposed to find unbiased research? Turns out… there’s not much credible info to be found. You’ll find a thousand sources telling you they’re safe and that you should get vaccinated. But, largely, they’re just repeating what they’ve been told or read elsewhere. There are tons of articles and repeated instructions of your need to get the flu shot, but what are they basing their instructions on? Do you really think Regis & Kelly (that who’s on with him now?) have done the research? You think Oprah has read medical journals examining the evidence about vaccinations? What about the anchor on your local evening news… think they’ve spent the time it takes to review medical research? What about President Obama? Think he’s an expert on the swine flu?

Okay… here’s a tough one… what about your general physician? You know… the guy who’s overbooked and spends about ninety seconds with you before writing out a script and heading to the next room. The same guy who’s trying to battle insurance companies every day for fair reimbursement for his services and expertise. The same guy who has ten phone calls to make and six reports to write to “justify” his recommendations to some insurance adjuster. Do you really think he’s spent oodles of time researching the history and efficacy of vaccinations?

So… if none of them have done the research, who has, and who is telling us it’s so important for us to get vaccinated? Come on… you can say it… you’ve heard me tell you a hundred times on here… what’s it all about? It’s all about the Benjamins, baby! You know it as well as I do. Who serves to profit from vaccinations? Who wants to create a market for a new product? Who wants that product completely sold before it’s even produced? Who spends billions lobbying members of Congress and the FDA? Who spends billions on network advertising virtually assuring a lack of scrutiny or criticism? The pharmaceutical companies, of course. They make billions selling their wares to the uneducated public, media, and government. They pay “experts” to sign off on and approve research that these so-called experts haven’t participated in or reviewed… then pass it off to the public as gospel. This form of “research” and ghost writing is well documented and general knowledge. So… the only research done on these products and released to the public is done by and approved by the pharmaceutical companies themselves. Kinda convenient, huh?

So where does the media get their information on which they base their vehement recommendations that you need to get your flu shots? Press releases from the very same pharmaceutical companies, of course. And with the risk of losing billions in advertising dollars, do you think the “news” divisions of these media outlets are going to question or scrutinize the information given to them? I don’t think so. Again, follow the money. If Big Pharma, Inc. that buys five billion in advertising on your network this year gives you a press release and asks, “Would you mind putting this info out for us,” do you think you’re going to refuse? What’s it cost the media outlet to have one of their commentators read that on the air? Nothing. What’s it cost them if they refuse? Potentially, five billion that the pharmaceutical company will take to another network who will push their agenda for them.

Why does the government fall in line? What’d I tell you? Follow the money! The pharmaceutical industry has four lobbyists for every Congressperson in Washington. They spend every bit as much in donations to re-election campaigns as they do on advertising. Congresscritters, being in perpetual campaign mode, are easy targets. Got an election coming up? We’ve got a couple million we can divert to you… if you’ll support our issues. Look at the debacle of Medicare Part D, also known as the prescription drug plan. These idiots in Washington, under the guise of “helping seniors,” agreed to spend your tax money on tens of thousands of unnecessary medications, while also agreeing to an arrangement where they can’t negotiate for better prices! I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been under the impression that you can get better rates if you can buy in bulk. But, alas, no. Your “representatives” in Washington agreed to give your money to the pharmaceutical companies at whatever rate the company establishes as their fee. By the way, I think 95% of Congresscritters got re-elected in the last election. Interesting, huh?

What about your physician? Where does he get his info? Why does he believe and recommend vaccinations. On what do they base their recommendations of “safety and effectiveness?” Well, the pharmaceutical companies also employ one liaison, also known as a drug rep, for every six physicians in the country. Their sole job is to stimulate the writing of more prescriptions. They do this by regularly visiting physicians and “educating” them about new products and how to properly prescribe, document, and bill for pharmaceutical products. They provide meals and entertainment for the doctors and their staff… every day. I know doctors who boast that they’ve not had to buy lunch in years. Big prescribers are invited to “educational” seminars in the Bahamas for their continuing ed requirements… paid for by the pharmaceutical company, of course. Ever noticed all of the pens, clipboards, notepads, etc. in your doctors office have the name of some drug on them? That’s just one more ‘thank you’ for recommending our products. Just a gift, right? Nope, you’ve just saved that office a few thousand dollars per year in office supply costs.

Wow! This got much longer than I thought it was going to be. Thanks for reading and check out the following video,

Unanswered Questions About Vaccinations and Flu Shots

Posted by Dr. Gray on Thursday, October 22, 2009

As I was preparing and doing some research for this blog post, I found a near identical article to what I was planning.  I’ll add one question that I felt should have been added to the list afterwards, but here ya go:

Vaccine mythology remains rampant in both western medicine and the mainstream media. To hear the vaccination zealots say it, vaccines are backed by “good science,” they’ve been “proven effective” and they’re “perfectly safe.”

Oh really? Where’s all that good science? As it turns out, there’s isn’t any. Flu vaccines (including swine flu vaccines) are based entirely on a vaccine mythology that assumes all vaccines work and no vaccines can be scientifically questioned. Anyone who dares question the safety or effectiveness of vaccines is immediately branded a danger to public health and marginalized in the scientific community.

Here are ten questions vaccine-pushing doctors and health authorities absolutely refuse to answer:

#1) Where are the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies proving flu vaccines are both safe and effective? Answer: There aren’t any.

#2) Where, then, is the so-called “science” backing the idea that flu vaccines work at all? Answer: Other than “cohort studies,” there isn’t any. And the cohort studies have been thoroughly debunked. Scientifically speaking, there isn’t a scrap of honest evidence showing flu vaccines work at all.

#3) How can methyl mercury (Thimerosal, a preservative used in flu vaccines) be safe for injecting into the human body when mercury is an extremely toxic heavy metal? Answer: It isn’t safe at all. Methyl mercury is a poison. Along with vaccine adjuvants, it explains why so many people suffer autism or other debilitating neurological side effects after being vaccinated.

#4) Why do reports keep surfacing of children and teens suffering debilitating neurological disorders, brain swelling, seizures and even death following flu vaccines or HPV vaccines? Answer: Because vaccines are dangerous. The vaccine industry routinely dismisses all such accounts — no matter how many are reported — as “coincidence.”

#5) Why don’t doctors recommend vitamin D for flu protection, especially when vitamin D activates the immune response far better than a vaccine? Answer: Because vitamin D can’t be patented and sold as “medicine.” You can make it yourself. If you want more vitamin D, you don’t even need a doctor, and doctors tend not to recommend things that put them out of business.

#6) If human beings need flu vaccines to survive, then how did humans survive through all of Earth’s history? Answer: Human genetic code is already wired to automatically defend you against invading microorganisms (as long as you have vitamin D).

#7) If the flu vaccine offers protection against the flu, then why are the people who often catch the flu the very same people who were vaccinated against it? Answer: Because those most vulnerable to influenza infections are the very same people who have a poor adaptive response to the vaccines and don’t build antibodies. In other words flu vaccines only “work” on people who don’t need them. (And even building antibodies doesn’t equate to real-world protection from the flu, by the way.)

#8) If the flu vaccine really works, then why was there no huge increase in flu death rates in 2004, the year when flu vaccines were in short supply and vaccination rates dropped by 40%? Answer: There was no change in the death rate. You could drop vaccination rates to zero percent and you’d still see no change in the number of people dying from the flu. That’s because flu vaccines simply don’t work.

#9) How can flu vaccines reduce mortality by 50% (as is claimed) when only about 10% of winter deaths are related to the flu in the first place? They can’t. The 50% statistic is an example of quack medical marketing. If I have a room full of 100 people, then I take the 50 healthiest people and hand them a candy bar, I can’t then scientifically claim that “candy bars make people healthy.” That’s essentially the same logic behind the “50% reduction in mortality” claim of flu vaccines.

#10) If flu vaccines work so well, then why are drug makers and health authorities so reluctant to subject them to scientific scrutiny with randomized, placebo-controlled studies? Answer: Although they claim such studies would be “unethical,” what’s far more unethical is to keep injecting hundreds of millions of people every year with useless, harmful vaccines that aren’t backed by a shred of honest evidence.

Kudos to Natural News who got this article done, researched, and posted before me. They went even further with their discussion, and have links to a lot of the factual evidence backing up their answers. Don’t take my word for it; check ’em out for yourself.

Now… one other question that keeps hitting me, but never receives an answer: Often, people are made to feel guilty if they refuse the flu shot because “they are putting others at risk.” If I get exposed and fight the flu virus… if the flu shot does what they say, and they’ve had the flu shot, what are they worried about and how am I putting them at risk?

The Swine Flu Vaccine… History Repeating Itself?

Posted by Dr. Gray on Tuesday, October 20, 2009

This video was broadcast once, and was subsequently squashed. Interesting that none of this is being discussed. Fear is again driving the issue. All over the media, you are being pummeled with dire warnings about the swine flu and how dangerous it is. What you’re not hearing is that a majority of experts admit that the swine flu is actually a fairly mild form of the flu. In fact, many have stated that it is less invasive and dangerous than the traditional seasonal flu.

So why are we being warned about it so much? What’s the motivation? Come on, people… in your gut, you know what it is… It’s all about the Benjamins! Money, of course. What you have witnessed is an all out media blitz to sell a product. A marketing ploy that the “news” media and your federal government has been complicit in pushing. Can you imagine having a product in production that is sold out before it even rolls off the assembly line? That’s what this is. All you hear about is, “There may not be enough vaccine to go around.” What that means is… they’ve already sold as much as they will produce within the flu season window. Nobody in the media is asking the pertinent question, “What do you mean ‘not enough to go around’… do we even need it? And what are the potential side effects? Do the perceived benefits outweigh the risks?”

When Government Plays Doctor

Posted by Dr. Gray on Wednesday, May 6, 2009

A good friend of mine posted a wonderful piece recently that I felt worth reposting here.

This week, concerns about swine flu have dominated the media and many government officials. While the American people should be made aware of infectious diseases and common sense preventative measures, much of the hysterical reaction from government only serves to remind us how detrimental to your health it can be when government plays doctor.

As a physician, I have yet to see any evidence that justifies the current level of alarm. Influenza typically kills around 36,000 people every year in this country and hospitalizes a couple hundred thousand. So far there are only a handful of confirmed deaths attributable to this strain, and most of those sickened have or will fully recover. Every death is tragic, but I see no reason to deal with this flu outbreak any differently than we typically deal with any other flu season. Instead, government in its infinite wisdom is performing even more invasive screening at airports, closing down schools and sporting events, and causing general panic.

We had a similar outbreak in 1976, with only 1 death from the flu, but mandatory vaccinations killed at least 25 before the program was abandoned.

When government gets involved in healthcare decisions, the cure is so often worse than the illness. And yet, this administration will likely consolidate the government’s power over your health with sweeping new reforms that are already being discussed in the Senate.

Government has not improved healthcare, and has not made it cheaper. Quite the opposite; costs have skyrocketed, and quality has gone down in many ways. Gone are the days of the country doctor making house calls, or of voluntarily giving away medical services at charity hospitals. The bureaucratization of healthcare these past 45 years has made things worse. It saddens me as a doctor that physicians are less and less accountable to patients, but more and more accountable to government red tape, insurance companies and attorneys. It seems so perverse to me that important medical decisions that will directly affect the lives of all or nearly all Americans are being hashed out behind closed doors in Washington rather than between doctors and patients.

There is perhaps nothing more valuable to a human being than his or her health, which is why I’ve always considered the practice of medicine so crucial to our well-being. Any intrusion by government into the privacy and trust between doctor and patient is detrimental to the art of medicine. It distorts the whole dynamic of who the client really is when doctors must answer more to government or insurance companies than to their patients. The best solutions to improving quality and lowering costs of healthcare would be measures that put decisions back into the hands of patients and doctors, where they rightfully belong. I have introduced HR 1495 The Comprehensive Healthcare Reform Act, which promotes health savings accounts and tax deductibility of healthcare costs as an important step in this direction.

The unfortunate reality of this recent health crisis, as with any crisis, is that it presents opportunities that the unscrupulous will take advantage of, while the fearful become more compliant.

Wow! Pretty profound… yet truthful… statements. I wonder if we can really understand and take to heart what he has said. Let’s break it down, huh?

  1. Although tragic, the swine flu situation is being blown out of proportion for ulterior motives
  2. That motive involves more government control over your health care decisions
  3. Increased government involvement has actually caused the rise in health care costs over the past 45 years
  4. Increased government involvement has also led to a decrease in the quality of care provided
  5. You and your interests are becoming less and less important with the expanding role of government

When are we going to wake up? How far must government go before you learn that they do not have your best interest in mind?

A couple years ago, there were outcries because The Patriot Act was seen as an invasion of privacy and freedoms. Yet, when the government proposes to take total control of your health care decision making ability… nothing. What was the most complained about provision of The Patriot Act? Wiretapping of overseas phone calls. Phone calls… oh the outrage! But now… they want control of YOUR PERSONAL ABILITY TO MAKE YOUR OWN HEALTH CARE DECISIONSand nothing???

Partisanship is not only detrimental to individual and collective good, it is also STUPID. Wake up people. Take a whiff of that crap they’re shoveling before you swallow it whole.
